Govt to set up national judicial academy at Shibchar
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the government is planning to set up a national judicial academy at Shibchar upazila in Madaripur in order to provide training to the judges.
“Judiciary is independent now. Trainings for the judges are very important for institutionalising the independence of judiciary. Therefore, a national judicial academy will be set up in the upazila upon the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.
The law minister said this while talking to reporters after visiting the probable locations in the upazila for setting up the academy.
Minister Anisul Huq said Shibchar upazila is situated on the bank of Padma River and the place will be turned into a very significant place in the country after the construction of the Padma Bridge.
He said the government will also set up a “Chouki Adalat” (court) in the upazila in order to ensure access to justice for the general people.
Later on, the law minister attended a view exchange meeting as chief guest organised by Faridpur District’s Bhanga Upazila Bar Association.
