Five return from Indian jail
Five people, including four women, yesterday returned home through Benapole check post after serving two years in an Indian jail.
They hail from different areas of Narail and Barishal.
Indian police handed them over to Bangladesh police at Benapole immigration check post.
Abul Bashar, officer in charge of Benapole immigration check post, said a youth and four women had entered Indian territory two and half years back without valid documents through Jashore border in search of jobs.
Later, Indian police arrested them from Kolkata city. A case was filed against the arrestees. Later, an Indian court sentenced them to two years' imprisonment each.
