DRTOA found proof of overcharging against 7 bus companies

Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association has found proof against seven bus companies of taking extra fare from the passengers returning to Dhaka after Eid-ul-Azha.

The seven companies are: Lal-Sabuj Paribahan, Ekushe Paribahan Ltd, Hamachal Express Ltd, Himachal Exclusive, Dhaka Express Ltd, Econo Service and Elish AC Paribahan.

Khondaker Enayet Ullah, general secretary of the association, yesterday served notice to the companies asking them to give reply in three days, association’s Office Secretary Samdani Khondaker, told The Daily Star today.

“We will take further action upon receiving their replies,” he said.

On several occasions, different government agencies take action against handful number of bus companies, but action taken against any bus company by owner’s association is rare.
