Dengue patient dies in Rajshahi
A dengue patient died today while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Roushan Ara, 55, wife of Moslem Uddin, from Bheramara upazila of Kusthia, died at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital around 10:00am, RMCH deputy director Saiful Ferdous said.
She admitted to the hospital with symptoms of dengue and her body organs were not functioning well, our Rajshahi correspondent reports quoting Saiful Ferdouse.
After Roushan contracted the mosquito-borne disease, she was taken to a local Kusthia hospital on September 8, where doctors referred her to RMCH on September 10.
“She was shifted to the ICU of RMCH after her condition deteriorated on Thursday,” the official said.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 750 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till 8:00am Thursday.
