Cattle trader shot dead in BSF firing on Naogaon border: BGB

A Bangladeshi cattle trader has been shot dead by India's Border Security Force personnel along the Bangladesh-India border in Naogaon.
The incident took place at Patari Adatla border area under Sapahar upazila when BSF members opened fire on a group of cattle traders who were trying to enter India through the border on Tuesday night.
One of them, Abdul Bari, 45, of Dakshin Patari village in the upazila, sustained critical injuries after he was shot. The other cattle traders fled, reports our Natore correspondent quoting Lt Col Ariful Islam, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-16 Battalion) in Naogaon.
Later, locals brought Abdul Bari to Sapahar Upazila Health Complex in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries around 8:00am on Wednesday, the lieutenant colonel said.
Details in this regard will be communicated through a press release later, the BGB official added.
"There were wounds on the body of the deceased. However, the cause of death would be confirmed after autopsy. The body has been sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy," said Abdul Hai, officer-in-charge of Sapahar Police Station.
On Monday, another Bangladeshi cattle trader named Nirmal Roy Subhas was shot dead by BSF inside India at Nitpur border area in Naogaon's Porsha upazila.
