Bullet-hit body found at border

A Bangladeshi national was shot dead allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Kironganj border in Shibganj upazila yesterday.

The deceased was Abdur Rahim, 22, son of Morshed Ali of Kironganj village.

Quoting locals and family members, Atikul Islam, inspector of Shibganj Police Station, said Rahim was going to India around 3:00am when BSF opened fire, leaving him dead on the spot.

Police sent the body to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Lt Col SM Salahauddin, commander of BGB-59 Battalion, said they are investigating the matter.
