Bangladesh Police staffer dies from Covid-19
Another staffer of Bangladesh Police died from a Covid-19 infection at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka last night.
Dulal Sikder, an upper division assistant of Munshiganj District Police, was admitted to the hospital after he tested Covid-19 positive on June 19. He breathed his last around 11:00pm, said Abdul Momen, the district's superintendent of police.
With him, at least 38 members of Bangladesh Police force have died so far, after being infected with Covid-19 while discharging their duties.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 infected police personnel reached nearly 10,000 as of yesterday, according to a tally maintained by Police Headquarters.
More than 5,500 of them have recovered so far, and many of them have rejoined their posts.
