3 Rohingyas jailed for 10yrs in blast case
Three Rohingya people have been handed 10 years in prison on charges of a blast in Sir Salimullah Muslim Orphanage back in November 2014.
Judge Md Rabiul Alam of the Special Tribunal-4 of Dhaka handed the sentence in presence of two of the accused, who are all Islamic extremists.
The convicts are Md Nur Hossain alias Rafiqul Islam, Yasir Arafat and Omar Karim. Of them, Nur and Arafat are in jail and Karim is on the run.
The suit was filed under explosives act following a blast took place near Sir Salimullah Orphanage in Lalbagh area on November 30, 2014.
According to the case, the convicts had links to a blast took place on October 2, 2014, in a rented house of Khagagarh locality of Burdwan town of India’s Kolkata.
Sakil Gazi, a Bangladeshi who is the mastermind of a bomb-making module of JMB, and his associate Karim Sheikh -- were killed in the blast, the charge sheet said.
