An elderly woman was hacked to death allegedly by her son in Mymensingh yesterday while a man killed his wife by slitting her throat in Gopalganj on Wednesday.
A woman was killed allegedly by her son over a disputed land at Kashor Dubaliapara village in Mymensingh's Bhaluka upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased was Morium Begum, 70, wife of late Abdul Jobbar, reports our correspondent.
Police and family members said Morium's son Golam Mustafa, 45, a day labourer, had a dispute with his mother over the land.
As a sequel to the feud, Mustafa hacked his mother Morium when she was asleep. She died on the spot.
Police later arrested Mustafa.
In Gopalganj, a housewife was murdered at Sitarampur village in Gopalganj's Kashiani upazila on Wednesday night, reports our Faridpur correspondent.
The victim was Jannat Ferdous, 22, wife of farmer Mohsin Shikder of the village.
Mohsin often tortured Jannat over family feuds, police and locals said, adding that Mohsin killed Jannat by slitting her throat and fled the scene on Wednesday.
