2 killed in microbus-pickup van collision in Brahmanbaria

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a microbus and a pickup van at Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway just 24 hours within the death of three people in a private car accident.

The accident took place at Alinagar area of ​​Budhanti union of the upazila around 9:00am this morning. Three more people were injured in the accident.

Abdul Hamid, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Islampur Police Outpost, who was at the spot, said of the two dead, one was identified as pickup van associate Roni Khandaker (18), son of Ripon Khandaker of Latia village in Shayestaganj upazila of Habiganj district.

The identity of the driver could not be known yet.

ASI Hamid said a Sylhet-bound microbus collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound pickup van coming from the opposite direction. Two riders of the pickup van died on the spot. The injured were rescued and sent to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex in adjoining Habiganj district.
