A teenage girl in Laxmipur and a garment worker in Narayanganj were gang-raped last night.
Police arrested five alleged rapists in connection with the incidents.
In Laxmipur, the girl, aged around 15, was gang-raped by her boyfriend and four other youths, reports our correspondent from Noakhali.
Being informed, police this morning rescued the girl from a house in Bhadurgram area in Ramganj upazila in critical condition and sent the victim to Laxmipur General Hospital, police said.
The law enforcers also arrested three of the five alleged rapists from that house this morning, said Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramganj Police Station.
The arrestees were identified as Imon, 20, Rasel, 19, and Sharif, 22 of the Bhadurgram village.
Police are trying to arrest two other accused including one Shaon and another youth, said the OC.
A case was under process in this regard, he added.
In Narayanganj, an 18-year-old garment worker was gang-raped last night.
Police arrested two youths -- Sagir, 22, and Arman Ali, 20, of Kuripara area under Bandar upazila, hours after the incident.
Victim’s mother filed a case with Bandar Police Station in this regard this morning.
The duo allegedly picked up the victim from Kuripara road around 7:00 pm, when she went out from garment factory for her house and gang-raped her, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bandar Police Station.
Later, the victim went to her house and told the incident to her mother, who filed a complaint with the police station on the same night, he added.
The girl sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for treatment and necessary tests.
