12 shanties gutted in Tejgaon railway colony fire

At least 12 shanties were gutted in a fire at the railway colony in Dhaka's Tejgaon area this evening.

The fire originated around 5:58pm from an earthen stove of a shanty, according to a official of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

On information, eight fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 7:30pm, Inspector Atiqul Alam Chowdhury of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters told The Daily Star.

No casualty was reported in the fire, he added.
