Natore Press Club secretary suspended
The executive body of Natore Press Club has suspended its general secretary Al Mamnu on charge of corruption and moral turpitude.
“Al Mamun, also a correspondent of Somoy TV, was suspended from the post of general secretary on charge of corruption and moral turpitude on Tuesday night. He will be permanently dismissed after the decision of annual general meeting,” said Jalal Uddin, president of Natore Press Club.
Earlier in last month, the general secretary gave permission to use the press club as a venue for a fair where the organiser arranged obscene dance and gambling without permission of the executive body, Jalal said.
Accused Al Mamun said he was not suspended, rather he resigned from Natore Press Club.
Esahaque Ali, acting general secretary of Natore Press Club, said, “Al Mamun submitted his resignation but we suspended him, rejecting the resignation letter.”
