Mango-laden boat sinks

A mango-laden boat sank in Sandwip Channel near Kumira under Sitakunda upazila of the district yesterday. Upazila Nirbhai Officer Mohammed Shahin Imran said the boat carrying 590 cartons of mango sank when its engine got entangled with a net under the water around 3:00pm. Five boatmen were rescued by the crews of a nearby speedboat when it started sinking.  The sunken boat was going to Sandwip from Guptachara ghat, said the UNO.
