Madrasa boy rescued 4 days into abduction, 2 arrested
Police rescued a madrasa boy of Dhaka city, who was abducted four days ago, from the district town yesterday.
They also arrested two people for their alleged involvement in the abduction.
The victim is Saidur Rahman Abed, 11, son of Shahin Sakir of Bongsal area in the capital, and a student of Darul Quran Madrasa in Malitola area under Bongsal Police Station.
Police said on September 15, a gang abducted Saidur on his way to the madrasa from home. They later took him to a remote village in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari.
Following a general diary filed by the victim's father, a joint team from Nilphamari and Rangpur police stations conducted a drive at the village but the abductors left the spot with the boy, sensing the presence of police.
In another drive, the law enforcers rescued Saidur from a house in Anando Babur Pool area of the town yesterday morning. They also arrested two from the spot.
The arrestees are Ashraful Islam, 35, supervisor of Al Jamiatur Rahmania Madrasa in the area, and Mahibullah Huq Pappu, 20, of Sabujpara area in the town.
Police are also raiding different areas to arrest other accused, including Ashraful's brother-in-law Masud, in this connection.
The victim's father filed a case for abduction and human trafficking, said Shahjahan Pasha, officer-in-charge of Nilphamari Police Station.
