JP leader stabbed in Rangpur

Unidentified miscreants stab a local Jatiya Party (JP) leader, leaving him critically injured at Munshipara area of Rangpur city.

Unidentified miscreants stabbed a local Jatiya Party (JP) leader, leaving him critically injured at Munshipara area of Rangpur city this afternoon.
The victim was identified as SM Yasir, 45, of Jummapara area of the city and member secretary of the city unit of JP.
A group of miscreants, equipped with sharp weapons, stabbed Yasir indiscriminately at Munshipara area around 3:00pm when he was returning home from Munshipara graveyard riding his motorcycle, said Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, convener of JP Rangpur city unit.
Local people rescued Yasir and admitted him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, reports our Rangpur correspondent.
Md Abdul Quader Jilani, officer-in-charge of Rangpur Kotwali Police Station, said miscreants stabbed on Yasir’s body and head.
He said police have started a drive to arrest the assailants.
