Injured BCL man dies at CMCH
The BCL worker who was stabbed in Feni on Monday succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday in Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) two days after the attack.
Faisal Ifty, 16, son of Oman expatriate Nurul Alam of Damurua village, was a first year student at Feni Government College.
He lived along with his mother in a rented house at Master Para in Feni town.
Police on Wednesday picked up two people named Ornob and Zahid for interrogation.
Police and witnesses said Faisal had quarrel with Ornob, a second year student of the college, over junior-senior issue on Monday morning that was stopped after interference of the college BCL leaders.
Four to five youths led by Ornob, however, beat Faisal in the afternoon at College Road, injuring him seriously, police said, adding that at one stage they also stabbed him.
The miscreants fled the scene when the local people came to the aid of Faisal as he shouted for help.
Locals took him to Feni Sadar Hospital from where he was shifted to CMCH as his condition deteriorated.
Feni Government College BCL President Tofael Ahmed said Faisal was killed over a trifling matter. He demanded arrest of thee people involved in the killing and their punishment.
Feni Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Md Rashed Khan Chowdhury said two people have been arrested for interrogation in this regard.
