Indian clothes seized
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian saris and other clothes worth Tk 6.75 crore from Amrakhali area on Benapole-Jessore road here on Sunday night. Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer of BGB-26 Battalion, said a team of the border guard, on a tip-off, conducted a drive in the area and intercepted a truck at about 10:00pm. Sensing the presence of the border guards, the truck driver and helper managed to flee from the scene. Later, the BGB members recovered 267 packets of Indian saris and clothes from the truck. The recovered Indian clothes were deposited at the Benapole customs house.
