I will raise land acquisition issue with PM

Begum Raushan Ershad, MP, said they want to make Mymensingh a beautiful city but the homesteads of char people should be spared from acquisition for this purpose.

She said this yesterday while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Income Tax Week at Advocate Tareq Smriti auditorium in the town as chief guest.

Many char people including women at the programme expressed their deep concern at losing their ancestral homesteads and farmlands for development of Mymensingh division.

Raushan, also the Lader of Opposition in Parliament, said she will talk with the prime minister on the issue, said locals.

In her speech, she also urged all the eligible persons to pay taxes.
