House session to continue until Feb 28
The 19th session of the current parliament will continue till February 28.
The Business Advisory Committee of the parliament took the decision in a meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad this afternoon
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the meeting where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present.
It also took the decision that a total of 45 hours discussion will be held during the session's thanksgiving motion on the speech of President Abdul Hamid.
The president is scheduled to deliver his speech, dwelling on the government's development activities and other national and international issues.
This might be the last speech of the president in the 10th Jatiya Sangsad as the next parliamentary election is likely to be held late this year or early next year.
The New Year's session usually becomes long as lawmakers are supposed to participate in a thanksgiving motion on the president's speech that has already been approved by the cabinet.
