Govt employee murdered

An office assistant of Dinajpur Polytechnic Institute was hacked to death at a students' mess in the district town on Tuesday night. The deceased is Abdur Rahim, 30, son of Gias Uddin Ahmed of Ghughudanga village in Sadar upazila. Quoting locals, AKM Khalequzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said Rahim came to the mess to meet one Shuvo Sheikh, a third semester student of the institute. Hearing screams, locals entered the mess and found Rahim and Shuvo in a pool of blood. The two were sent to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared Rahim dead.
