Gambling in Pabna fair

A mobile court on Friday night arrested five gamblers from handloom and handicraft fair on Shaheed M Monsur Ali College premises in the district town and fined organisers of the fair Tk 8 lakh.

During the raid, the court also seized huge amount of lottery tickets from the spot, said locals.

Executive magistrates Ajgar Hossain and Hamidur Rahman led the court.

Mirpur Tant Shikhha Foundation inaugurated the month-long fair on October 14 but the organisers introduced Dainik Tamanna Raffle Draw illegally there, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Salma Khatun.
