Four sued for abducting girl
Four people were sued on charge of abducting a teenage girl at Kakeyatepa village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday.
The accused include Sultan Miah, 32, son of late Akbar Ali of the village.
The girl's father filed the case with Sadar Police Station, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahfuz Alam of the police station.
The victim, 18, hails from a poor family in the same area.
According to the case statement, on May 20, the girl went missing from their house.
The following day, a general diary was filed with the police station in this connection, but the victim's parents later came to know from the villagers that prime accused Sultan and his cohorts abducted their daughter.
Local resident Altaf Hossain, 58, said drug addict Sultan with the help of three people abducted the girl and took her on a battery-run three-wheeler.
Police are trying to rescue the girl and arrest the culprits, said the OC.
The victim's mother alleged that Sultan's family members continued threatening them to withdraw the abduction case.
