Fire at Gazipur cotton factory tamed

Fire broke out at a cotton factory in Gazipur’s Sreepur upazila this morning. There has been no report of casualties.
Eco Textile Mill Limited, a factory with 1,000 workers and located at Gargaria Mastarbari area, caught fire around 11:30am, our local correspondent reports.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Seven fire fighting units from Sreepur, Bhaluka and Gazipur brought the flames under control around 1:00pm, said Akhtaruzzaman, local deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Around 150 workers were working in the morning shift when the fire began, said Md Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station. “There is no news of any casualty.”
The reason of fire was yet to be ascertained.
