Delivery patient dies in hospital

A carrying woman admitted to a private hospital yesterday morning with labour pain in Bhaluka upazila in the district died due to alleged wrong treatment.

Asma Akhtar, 22, wife of Ali Akbar Manik of village Satenga, died in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Asma, daughter of Abu Taleb Mridha of Dhitpur, was shifted to MMCH from Tahmina General Hospital and Diagnostic Centre as her condition deteriorated.

Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex Medical Officer Dr Abu Mohammad Kaikobad and Dr Mosharraf Hossain, owner of the private hospital, conducted the operation, police said. The physicians conducted operation for the second time as they could not stop her bleeding, police said.
