Cattle trader found murdered
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered the slit-throat body of a cattle trader from bordering Kolmudanga village in Sapahar upazila of Naogaon district yesterday.
The victim was identified as Shahidul Islam, 30, son of Golam Mostofa of the village, said Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer of BGB-14 Battalion.
The body was sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Sapahar Police Station.
Shahidul along with other cattle traders went to the border area to bring Indian cattleon Wednesday night. Early in the morning, his body was found in the area.
Shahidul's cohorts might have killed him over internal feud and dumped the body in the area, said the BGB official.
Another cattle trader, Monir Hossain of the village, went into hiding soon after the incident, he said.
