BSF returns teenage boy
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) returned a Bangladeshi boy following a flag meeting held with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Molani border in Ranishankoil upazila yesterday.
The returnee is Md Farukh, 16, son of Md Mojibur Rahman of Munnatoli village, BGB sources said.
Tusher Bin Yunus, commanding officer of BGB 30 Battalion, said a BSF team arrested Farukh while he was working on their agricultural land near the border Pillar No 371/8-S at around 1:00pm.
Receiving the message, BGB sent a letter to its Indian counterpart, demanding return of the boy.
At around 2:00pm, BSF and BGB held a flag meeting on the zero point of the border and later handed Farukh over to Bangladesh border guards.
