The biker, who allegedly ran into Assistant Commissioner (land) Kazi Nazib Hasan while he was on duty in Jhikargachha upazila in Jashore, was arrested last night.
The rider — Shubrata Das Amit — was arrested from Laxmipur village under the same upazila around 7:00pm, our Benapole correspondent reports, quoting Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jhikargachha Police Station.
Later, two motorbikes under the same registration number were recovered from his residence at Krishnonagar village, the OC said.
The pillion rider Abdullah Al Shakil was arrested earlier, the police official added.
A motorcycle hit the AC land when he, along with law enforcers, were working to stop a gathering at Godkhali Bazar area under Jhikargacha upazila on Sunday afternoon.
Two youths were on the motorcycle and they fled immediately, leaving the bike at the spot.
With severe injuries on the leg, head and abdomen, the AC was rushed to a district hospital; he was shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) later, his colleagues said.
He was flown to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) by a helicopter yesterday, Jhikargachha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sumi Mozumder told The Daily Star earlier.
