Beaten by teacher, 3 children hospitalised

Three students of a high school were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital on Tuesday after being beaten by a teacher.

The victims are Madhab Kumar, 14, son of Pobitra Kumar, Rimon Islam, 14, son of Mohammad Ali and Swapan Kumar Sharma, 13, son of Proshad Sharma.

Madhab and Ripon are Class VIII students and Swapan is a Class VII student of Chowdhuryhat High School in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.

Locals said a mirror of a motorbike belonging to assistant teacher Dulal Hossain was broken as a ball hit it while some students were playing football at the school ground.

When the teacher came to know of the incident, he beat them mercilessly.

Family members took them to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital.

Dulal Hossain could not be contacted as his cellphone was switched off.
