Abducted madrasa girl traceless for 2 months

A 15-year-old madrasa girl, who was allegedly abducted in Sadar upazila of the district over two months ago, still remains traceless.

The abductee is daughter of a local leader of Mahila Awami League in Bhandarbari union under Dhunat upazila.

The victim's mother said “One Mehedi Hasan, 20, son of Jahurul Islam of Shimulbari village in the union, abducted my daughter from Sadar upazila on March 28 as she refused his love proposal.” 

On March 30, the woman filed an abduction case with Dhunat Police Station, accusing Mehedi and his six cohorts.

Although the abductors are moving freely in and around the area, police are yet to take any steps to arrest them, alleged the mother of the girl.

Refuting the allegation, Ziaur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the police station, said law enforcers are trying to rescue the girl and arrest the accused.
