8 jailed for stalking in Jhenidah, Bogra
Eight youths were jailed for stalking in Jhenidah and Bogra districts on Tuesday and the day before.
A mobile court sentenced seven teenage boys to one month's imprisonment each for teasing some schoolgirls in Sadar upazila of Jhenidah on Monday, reports UNB.
The stalkers are Rakibul Hassan,17, son of Wazzel Hossain, Sohag, 20, son of Osman Ali, Momin,17, son of Hujur Ali, Hridoy,17, son of Abdul Hai, Ovi,18, son of Babul Akhtar of Kulchara village in Shailkupa upazila; Rony,17, son of Rahman of Vatai Bazaar in Sadar upazila, and Shakil,18, son of Murad Biswas of Chandpur.
Officer-in-Charge Hasan Hafijur Rahman of Sadar Police Station said law enforcers arrested seven youths while they were teasing a few girls in front of Jhenaidah Government Girls' High School on Monday afternoon.
Later, the arrestees were produced in a mobile court led by Assistant Commissioner (land) Osman Goni. The court sent the youths to jail, said the OC.
In Bogra, a mobile court sentenced a youth to six months' imprisonment for teasing a housewife in Dhunat upazila of the district on Tuesday, reports our correspondent.
The stalker is Rokonuzaman Rokon, 25, son of late Abul Kalam Azad of Shamgati village in the upazila.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hafizur Rahman led the court, said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Dhunat Police Station.
