5 killed as bus plunges into ditch in Ctg

At least five people were killed and 40 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Mirsharai upazila of Chittagong this afternoon.

A bus from Mirsharai upazila to Khagrachhari plunged into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering in Loharpul area around 2:00 pm, leaving five people dead on the spot and at least 40 people injured, said Md Muzahid, a sub-inspector of Jorarganj Police Station.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, the SI told our local correspondent.
