4 kids drown

Four kids drowned in the district on Saturday and the day before.

Two twin sisters drowned in a pond at Bhoishwar village in Sarail upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were Asha Akter, 4, and Lisa Akter, 4, daughters of Zunayed Mia of the village.

Police and family members said Asha and Lisa drowned while they were bathing in the pond nearby their house.

Later, locals recovered the bodies from the pond.

Meanwhile, two siblings drowned in a pond at Monianda village in Akhaura upazila on Friday. 

The victims were Jannat Akter, 8, and Tayeef Hasan, 6, children of Masuk Mia of the village. 

Locals said the two siblings accidentally fell into the pond near their house while they were playing on its bank and drowned.
