4 held with arms in Bandarban

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Bangladesh Army in a raid arrested four hill people with twenty five firearms and huge ammunitions in remote Lama upazilla of Bandarban early today.

They arrestees are Thui Sa Mong  Marma, 35, Oikyo Marma, 36, Saimong  Marma, 34, and Mifong Marma. All are hailed from the area.

Acting on a tip-off, 25 handmade guns and 2,037 round bullets were recovered from their possession, said commanding officer of Rab-7 Col Miftah Uddin Ahmed.

5 robbers held in Dhaka

In a separate incident, a team of Rab-2 arrested five robbers with arms and sharp weapons in the capital’s Mohammadpur area last night.

Robiul Islam, assistant director of Rab-2, said that the five robbers were arrested during a raid at a petrol pump near Sadek Khan Road in Mohammadpur. They were holding a secret meeting around 1:30am.
