4 get life term for killing teenage boy
A court here yesterday sentenced four people to rigorous imprisonment for life for killing a teenage boy in Shivalay upazila on May 23 in 2014.
The court also fined the convicts Tk 10,000 each, in default, to serve two more years of rigorous imprisonment.
Senior Judge of the District and Sessions Judge's Court Md Mizanur Rahman Khan delivered the verdict.
The convicts are Mohammad Sujon, 22, Mohammad Abu Taleb, 45, Mohammad Suruj, 19, and Mohammad Muktar Hossain, 32. Md Sujon and Mohammad Abu Taleb were present in the court, while the other two are absconding.
Two other accused, Md Liton, 30, and Md Raju Hossain, 35, were acquitted as the charges brought against them could not be proved.
According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Md Tutul, 13, son of Arman Ali of Teota village in Shibalaya upazila and dumped his body into the well of Teota Jamindar Bari on May 23 in 2014.
Informed by locals, police recovered the body from there after seven days.
Arman filed a case with Shivalaya Police Station on May 30 against six people.
Police submitted the charge sheet before the court on December 10 in 2014.
