At least four people were killed and five injured after a truck overturned and fell into a ditch in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur this morning.

The deceased were: Ismail Hossain, 35, Rezaul Islam, 45, Jafirul Islam, 37 and Dilip Chandra Roy, 45, all day labourers from Nawabganj upazila, reports our Dinajpur correspondent quoting Md Ferdous, in-charge of Barapukuria police camp.

The Dinajpur-bound truck laden with logs overturned near the Barapukuria mine area around 4:30am after the driver lost control of the steering, the police official added.

Two of the injured were rushed to Parbatipur Upazila Health Complex. Three others were sent to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

The dead bodies were taken to Parbatipur Police Station.
