350km walk to create road safety awareness

A grocer started travelling to Dhaka from Rangpur on foot to raise public awareness about road safety across the country.

Fifty-year-old Alok Nath started his 350-kilometre journey towards the capital from in front of Rangpur Press Club yesterday.

During his journey, Alok would hold meetings with the students of different educational institutions along the highways.

Alok Nath said nearly 15,000 people are killed in road accidents every year which can be reduced by growing public awareness.
