3 kids rescued from dangerous adventure
Police rescued three children, who had left their homes to live a thrilling life in the forest by eating insects, from Amtali upazila of Barguna on Tuesday.
The children were identified as Miad, 9, son of Faruq Hossain, Tanmoy, 13, son of Rezaul Karim and Munna, 13, son of Mizanur Rahman, all of Gabtali area in Narsingdi district, said Amtali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Alauddin Milon.
Police found the three children at the local launch terminal and took them to the police station. They informed their guardians, who went to Amtali on Wednesday evening.
The kids told police that they planned to live in the forest by eating insects as they were inspired by watching Discovery channel on satellite TV, the OC said.
"We handed them over to their guardians on Wednesday," he added.
Mizanur Rahman, father of Munna, said the kids left their houses on Sunday.
"We searched for them everywhere but in vain. They planned to live in a forest by eating insects as they got the idea after watching Discovery channel programmes," he said.
He thanked the police for rescuing the kids and handing them over to the families.
