3 kids drown in pond

Three children of a family drowned in a pond at Kathalbari village under Bhanga upazila of the district  on Sunday noon.

The victims were Jimi Akter, 8, daughter of Jamir Matabbor, Mim Akter, 7, daughter of Bashar Matabbor, and Sajjad Hossan, 2, son of Jamir Matobbor of the same village.

Anamul Matabbor, uncle of the victims, said “As one of them fell into the pond, two others went to rescue him and finally all the three drowned in the pond. Later family members rescued them and rushed to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex where an on duty doctor declared them dead.”
