12 new faces in BNP executive committee

Twelve new faces have joined the national executive committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

The 12 are among 15 joint secretary generals and organising secretaries whose names were announced today.

With the 15, BNP so far announced names of 18 leaders of the national executive committee.

BNP senior joint secretary general Rizvi Ahmed announced the names at a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office.

The joint secretaries are: Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Muibur Rahman Sarwar, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Harun-ar-Rashid and Aslam Chowdhury.

On the other hand, the organising secretaries are: Fazlul Haq Milon (Dhaka), Sahadat Hossain (Chittagong), Nazrul Islam Manju (Khulna), Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu (Rajshahi), Bilkis Shirin (Barisal), Asadul Habib Dulu (Rangpur), Emran Saleh Prince (Mymensingh) and Sama Obaed (Faridpur).

Khokon, Milon and Asadul Habib Dulu were in the same post in the previous committee.

Today’s announcement came 20 days after its central council was held on March 19.

Earlier on March 30, Khaleda appointed Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as secretary general, Rizvi Ahmed as senior joint secretary general and Mizanur Rahman Sinha as treasurer.

At the council, party councilors empowered Khaleda to form its national standing committee, BNP's highest policy-making body, as well as the executive committee.
