Corruption, a threat to justice: CJ
Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain today said corruption is a threat to justice everywhere and told judges to consider graft allegations seriously.
Tolerance to corruption will not be acceptable in the judiciary, he said while addressing the lower judicial conference of district judges, chief judicial magistrates and chief metropolitan magistrates at the Supreme Court auditorium.
“Corruption makes injustice and injustice is a threat to justice everywhere,” he said.
The chief justice warned that reasonable allegations against the judges will be taken into cognisance and they will be brought to book if found guilty.
“A proper judge will investigate any allegation properly,” he said.
“Stern actions will be taken against a judge or a court official found guilty of a corruption allegation,” he said ordering the judges to take new and effective anti-graft steps.
