Man dies of flu-like symptoms in Cumilla after his house put under lockdown
A 60-year-old farmer, who was suffering from flu-like symptoms, died this morning, hours after local administration locked down his house along with six others in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla.
He had visited Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex with cold, cough and sore throat few days back and received treatment there, our Cumilla correspondent reports quoting doctors.
After receiving treatment, he was doing well and started working, said Dr Md Shahinur Alam, a medical officer of the upazila health complex.
But the man fell sick again yesterday with diarrhea and sore throat, Dr Md Shahinur Alam said.
He died at home around 7:00am today, said the doctor.
His samples have been taken and sent to Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for examination, he said.
After hearing about the farmer's illness, local administration locked down his house along with six others at Chokrotola village around 10:00pm yesterday, said upazila nirbahi officer of Daudkandi Kamrul Islam Khan.
