Gono Kalyan Trust donates Tk 5 lakh to Gonoshasthaya Kendra to help fight against coronavirus

Gono Kalyan Trust, a nongovernment organisation, has donated Tk five lakh to Gonoshasthaya Kendra to help it continue its research on how to curb and prevent the spread of coronavirus, a press release says.

On March 25, a team led by Md Safiuddin, on behalf of the Gono Kalyan Trust, handed over a check worth Tk five lakh to Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, the release adds.

Coronavirus has turned into a pandemic and medical scientists are engaged in carrying out research on how to resist its spread, the press release said.

Under this circumstance, Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury's efforts to make test kits for the virus has been a success, it said.

The government has already welcomed Zafrullah Chowdhury and allowed him to manufacture the kits.

A huge amount of money is needed to manufacture the kits and the efforts will be successful if locals and foreigners, including industrialists, businessmen and common citizens, extend their helping hands, it said.
