8 hospitalised China returnees not infected: IEDCR
None of the eight hospitalised Bangladeshis, who were brought to Dhaka from China on a special flight, have Coronavirus, according to tests by the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
The IEDCR tested the eight -- who were admitted to hospitals after returning from China with high fever -- but found none infected with the deadly virus, IEDCR said in a press release signed by its Director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora.
Seven of them were sent to the quarantine centre in Ashkona Hajj Camp following the tests, the press release said, adding, another was sent to Kurmitola General Hospital as he still had a fever.
Meanwhile, IEDCR said two Bangladeshis hospitalised in China due to fever have returned to their homes in the country.
"They are doing well; no Coronavirus was found in them," IEDCR chief scientific officer SSM Alamgir told The Daily Star, quoting foreign ministry officials.
He also said no other Bangladeshi was reported sick in China so far.
