38 Covid-19 deaths, 1,028 new cases reported in 24 hours
Thirty-eight people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8:00am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths from the virus has now reached 12,348 and the death rate stands at 1.57 percent.
At least 1,028 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 7,87,726, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 8.41 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.57 percent.
A total of 12,230 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.
At least 759 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,29,798 and the recovery rate at 92.65 percent.
Among the 38 deceased, 25 were men and 13 women while two were between 11-20 years old; two were between 21-30 years old; three were between 31-40 years old; two were between 41-50; 13 between 51-60; and 16 were above 60 years old, added the release.
