Contractor, aide held with firearms at DMCH

Police detained two people including a contractor with a shotgun and a pistol at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) last night when the two went there to attack an employees' association leader over previous enmity.
The contactor, Khaled Rajib alias Raju, and his assistant, Ershadul Haque Dulal, were handed over to Shahbagh police.
Police said Raju led 20-25 people to DMCH around 9:00pm to attack the employees' leader, Ashraf Hossain Babu.
The hospital sources said the two had an altercation the previous day but the cause of their contention was not immediately clear.
Witnesses said Ashraf resisted the attempt with the hospital staff and Ansars, and the two groups chased each other for a few minutes before the employees caught the two.
Serajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station, confirmed their detention.
