Constitute all AL committees: PM asks party leaders
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today stressed on the need to constitute all Awami League (AL) committees at the grassroots level where councils were held before the Covid-19 pandemic, aiming to make the party stronger.
"We've to make our party stronger… many committees couldn't be constituted due to Covid-19, but their councils were held and steps should be taken to make the committees," she said.
The premier said this while addressing the secretaries' meeting of the ruling AL at the party's central office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue. She joined the meeting virtually from Gono Bhaban.
She asked the secretaries of the central committee to discharge their specific duties with sincerity and requested them to go through the election manifesto, economic policy of the party and discuss those.
Hasina, also the chief of AL, asked them to find out how many pledges of the party have been implemented and how many can be fulfilled in the coming days.
"If you go through your own subjects, we'll be able to go a longer way."
Talking about some by-elections to be held in the coming days, Hasina said as per surveys trust and belief in AL are still there as votes for the party in all areas are much higher.
She laid emphasis on remaining united in the coming days so that the party-nominated candidates can win the elections.
Praising the leaders and workers of her party, she said they stood by the side of common people in this evolving Covid-19 crisis as it is the culture of AL to work for humanity.
