“40pc food poisonous,” published on April 28, 2014
Mofi
In a country like Bangladesh, public health institutions should be made more effective. But unfortunately, what we see is just occasional mobile court drives by some administrative officers who do not have the necessary equipment and skills. Can't the government recruit a set of public health inspectors and let them do this job regularly after giving them appropriate training?

Mass media and local communities should step forward to solve this problem. Strong monitoring is needed to stop the availability of these chemicals.

Isn't this wholesale poisoning of fruits and many other food items including milk an act of terrorism? Government can easily track down the sources, importers, buyers, hoarders, retailers and users. It is no rocket science. I strongly believe a sincere drive can do the trick.

“Abductors in action” (April 28, 2014)
Dr Abdul Qader
Another news about abduction. It seems the law enforcement agencies are failing to do their duty. Hope this news reaches the prime minister. I hope she would take immediate action. Law and order is the prerequisite of a democratic process. If it is not there, then obviously the ruling parties will not be spared either.

Shamim Osman, the 'godfather' of Narayanganj, is the most favourite person of our PM.

Ominous democracy for an ill-fated nation. I personally know Nazrul who is very popular in his area. He had a severe clash with his own party men as well.
