College girl commits 'suicide'

A college girl allegedly committed suicide in Chaorarhat area of the city on Wednesday.
The deceased is Rabena Begum, 20, daughter of Abdul Aziz of the area and an honours second year student of Rangpur Government College.
Police and family sources said Rabena fell in love with Shafiqul Alam Prince, an assistant teacher of Benughat Government Primary School in the area.
Three months ago, Prince called Rabena out of her house and took her to Dinajpur.
On June 14, family members rescued Rabena from a house of Dinajpur and brought her back to Rangpur.    
Later, Rabena started pressuring Prince to marry her.
As Prince refused to marry Rabena, she took her life by taking poison on Wednesday night.
