Citycell Channel-i Music Awards ’13 held

The 9th Citycell Channel-i Music Awards 2013 was held on Friday, with a capacity crowd of 50,000 that applauded and cheered with the opening presentation of the popular DL Roy number, “Dhon O Dhanney Pushpe Bhora,” by noted Bangladeshi singers.
Prominent singer Syed Abdul Hadi was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the ceremony. “I will cherish this momentous occasion as long as I live,” said Hadi. Popular singers and musicians from Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives and Sri Lanka were also awarded at the event held at Al Ahli stadium, Qatar.
The star-studded programme included renowned singers Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, Momtaz, Syed Abdul Hadi, Rezwana Chowdhury Bonnya, Shakila Zafar, Tapan Chowdhury, Ayub Bachchu, James, Selim Chowdhury, Shahnaj Belly, Balam, Kona, Habib, Dinat Jahan Munni, Nakul Kumar Biswash, Konal and Beauty Das.
Celebrated actors Babita, Razzak, Moushumi, Ishita, Omar Sanny, Nipun, Ferdous and Tisha, among others, took part at the glitzy ceremony.
The awards in 18 categories included classical music (both vocal and instrumental); Tagore songs; Nazrul songs; folk songs; Adhunik songs; motion picture soundtrack; band music; underground band; songwriting; new artiste (male/female); sound engineering; cover design; music direction; music video and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
